I have a love for anything pumpkin. So when I saw that there was a pumpkin vodka, I had to try it. I figured this would be a good autumn drink. Maybe even for Thanksgiving/Friendsgiving parties. My friend, Justin, suggested the Fireball to add the spice to it, but I found that it needs to be used sparingly. I also added Bailey’s to round out the flavors and make the Fireball not as intense. The optional colored, sugar rim was just cute and delicious. But anyway, on to the recipe!
Pumpkin Spice Martini:
1 1/2 oz. Pinnacle Pumpkin Pie Vodka
1/4 oz. Fireball
1/4 oz. Bailey’s
Put the above ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake it baby! Strain into a martini glass (could also be made as a shot).
If you make it a martini and want a sugar rim, all you need is lime juice and sugar. You could really use anything sticky in place of the lime juice. Pumpkin butter might be interesting. They have a really good one at Trader Joe’s. Put the lime juice (or substitute) around the rim (can be done with a real lime or bottled lime juice that you pour into a bowl or plate). I got the gold and orange sugars from Michael’s Craft Store and just mixed them together on a separate plate. Then I turned the martini glass upside down and dunked the rim into the sugar and made sure it was evenly coated.
And that’s it! It took a few tries to get the amounts right, but in the end, it turned out to be a tasty (and strong!) drink. I’m already working on some December cocktails for you guys. Thinking about some candy cane rims and different flavor combinations.
I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving with their loved ones!
