One of my favorite experiences at Fashion Week this year was getting to cover backstage beauty at the Rachel Roy presentation. Bobbi Brown was actually there applying makeup to the models and giving final approval. I was in awe and loved watching her work. I’ve been toying with the idea of starting the steps to be a freelance makeup artist and watching them all work was definitely inspiring.
The makeup look was a rose gold, neutral approach that was very feminine. Bobbi… Ms. Brown?… said that it was inspired by her wedding ring, as well as one of her most popular selling lipsticks. The models all looked beautiful and fresh faced before heading to wardrobe.
Rachel Roy’s presentation was outside on a patio at Lincoln Center. I loved the color palette and there were a few pieces that especially caught my eye. The outfit in the second to last pic, as well as another loose knit dress (not pictured) were on my “can I please have that” list. Humorous fact: I thought Rachel was one of the models when she first showed up because I didn’t know what she looked like and the woman is gorgeous! Keiko got a kick out of that one.
More pictures from backstage and the actual presention can be seen on Keiko’s blog here and here. As well as her recreation of the look which can be seen here!

P.S. I know this was long overdue… but I’m queuing up a bunch of posts as an apology. I’ve been in a mood as of late. I have a terrible habit of taking on how my friends’ feel. I’ve gotten a ton of calls starting or ending with tears and there have just been general funks abound. My trifecta of holiday goodness is beginning this weekend so something’s gotta give. I don’t care if I need to drag myself out of the house to do so, but I’ll find the spirit.
