Do what you don’t do…

I started working towards my resolutions last week. Although, I’ll admit I didn’t get very far with six shifts at work. Luckily, I’ll be able to devote much more time seeing as how I am only working three days this week. That being said, I’m on a bit of a spending freeze for the next couple months. I’m saving up for my trip to Spain to visit Drew. The dress in the photos above (my new favorite) and my Sea of Bees necklace were probably my last clothing purchases for a while. I say that now, but the second I let myself walk into a store or go to an online shop, all bets are off. Oh well. 

I made a point to go out to Bootie LA the other night, knowing full well that I had to work at 8am the next morning. It was a rough start to my day, but totally worth it. I want to make a point to do the things that make me happy. I also need to start doing things on my own (like take a freaking dance class already). I just prefer the buddy system. It’s much more fun and helps the decision making throughout the day. Win win, right?

In the meantime…

I arrived in Florida yesterday and have been spending time with my parents and their new puppy, Otto. So far we’ve decorated the tree, gone to the beach (yay Christmas in Florida), and had cotton candy ice cream from Larry’s. All the best things. Having a little puppy running around is magical during the holidays. Although, I’ll be honest, he is hyper as anything. 

I’ve been working on some kinks in the blog so hopefully it will be all systems go soon. In the meantime, I better get some sleep. I have Christmas shopping to finish tomorrow. Then I’ll turn into an elf and wrap everything. I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season with their friends and families!

Good times

Today was the first day of my midweek weekend so I attempted to do some Christmas shopping. I started strong and then crashed and burned. But the attempt was there so I’ll go ahead and count it. Productivity is a tricky little bastard. 

At least I just bought makeup and not clothes. I have more clothing than I can adequately store, yet I always feel like I have nothing to wear. Case in point: the above outfit. The skirt AND sweater both belong to Keiko. Forty-something pounds in my suitcase and I ran out of things I wanted to wear, oh… I’d say about two days into our trip. Or maybe she just had better stuff. Yea, that’s definitely it. 

Tomorrow I’ll be baking with some of my friends from work. Hello Sailor is turning into hello gingerbread men. And hey, I’m alright with that.
